Treasure Island submitted by jennifer-ricks on August 19, 2011, 11:36am This is an old classic book. There is plenty of adventure and action.
Hasn't Really Aged Well submitted by Jan Wolter on June 22, 2013, 6:46pm Lots of old adventure novels are still as much fun today as they were a hundred years ago. But I don't think that most modern teens/kids will find much to interest them in "Treasure Island". If you're a big fan of pirate stories, you need to read this because it is pretty much the root of all pirate stories, but the tree of adventure writing has grown quite a lot since then.
NICE submitted by Franklin123 on July 13, 2013, 6:23pm NICE BOOK FOR FALLING ASLEEP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
many adventures of Jim submitted by camelsamba on June 24, 2014, 8:24pm My 10yo son was reading this for a school book club, and we read parts of it together as bedtime reading. As a result, I read some bits near the beginning and much of the last half. I've read various abridged versions of Treasure Island before, so I knew the basic storyline. Why I didn't realize was how many adventures Jim has on his own in between arriving at the island and departure - e.g. finding Ben Gunn, then Ben's coracle, the whole bit with the Hispaniola+Isaiah Hands+red cap, etc. Kind of makes me wonder what I missed from the middle!
