Cute Story submitted by jarroyo on August 2, 2013, 8:05am I think this is a cute story. My kids enjoyed this book.

Great book! submitted by cbrewster on August 16, 2013, 7:47pm One of my favorite stories from my childhood. I was always so impressed by Horton because he never gave up. He showed a great deal of concentration, perseverance, and bravery throughout the story.

Horton Hears a Who submitted by Alliemayzee on August 21, 2014, 6:49am We love this book. Such a great message of everyone being important and worthy of life, even if we can't see them or know what they look like-pretty sure Horton is Pro-life.

Horton submitted by candyceh811 on July 26, 2015, 9:22pm A Persons a Person no matter how small. Such a great lesson!

Charming Story submitted by Meginator on August 31, 2017, 2:05pm The politicization of Horton Hears a Who is unfortunate, but its basic message of compassion, empathy, and understanding is a good one. This book possesses all of the qualities of the best Dr. Seuss books: easily understood rhyming text, visually iconic characters, and a heartfelt message delivered with good humor.

sweet story submitted by jessNU on July 25, 2018, 2:05pm As other reviewers have noted, the lesson of compassion towards difference is an excellent one, and makes this book a classic.

Heartfelt submitted by lstorc on August 28, 2018, 7:02pm This is a lovable book about people appreciating one another regardless of differences.

Classic Read submitted by akgradwohl on July 6, 2019, 6:31pm “A person’s a person no matter how small”. What a classic book and great lesson!

Elephants have great hearing submitted by tbbrown76 on July 18, 2019, 1:58pm And Horton is no exception. Small things are sometimes very important. Recommended.

Favorite submitted by TLW1998 on July 21, 2019, 9:05pm This is a really sweet story about taking care of others and about how the smallest of all can save the day.

Classic submitted by crp on August 4, 2019, 10:54am Must read classic

Shall I give a yip or a yop? submitted by lisa on August 5, 2019, 5:29pm The Whos down in Whoville. That's who.

loved it submitted by autumnmist on August 15, 2019, 1:46am YES! PERFECT

Not Seuss's best submitted by FordAlpha on August 30, 2019, 10:40pm I love "Horton Hatches the Egg", but "Horton Hears a Who!" really doesn't do it for me. Yes, "a person's a person", compassion, caring for others, persistence, even the smallest voice is needed, yadda yadda. The story is just way overdone. The persecutors' motivations don't make sense. Horton's tearing down the whole clover field doesn't make sense. (Surely the Whos on their clover would have been safer if left where they landed. And what about the potential micro-civilizations on all those other pieces of clover? Not to mention the clover-meadow ecosystem?) Singling out a child as a shirker and the cause of the Whos' failure to be heard doesn't make sense. You will say, "It's Dr. Seuss! It's not SUPPOSED to make SENSE!" I acknowledge the point but reply that the internal logic and the morals of the story need to stand up to a bit more scrutiny than they do in "Horton Hears a Who!"

A Person's a person no matter how small submitted by JennJenn on August 3, 2020, 12:01pm I love the emphasis on a Person's a person no matter how small.

Share with a Child in your Life! submitted by thesrays on August 8, 2022, 10:12pm This book is a favorite in our household...and my kids are now teenagers! It's great to emphasize the importance of listening, even when life gets loud.
