Gaudy Night submitted by vln on June 13, 2015, 3:40pm Gaudy Night is my favorite Peter & Harriet book, and one of my favorite books ever.

The character development is wonderful in this thoughtful, elegantly written book.

If you like British mysteries from between the Wars, and you enjoy likeable characters (and a dearth of blood and gore), you may enjoy Gaudy Night.

Good book submitted by leenajong on July 14, 2015, 11:04am Good book from a queen of mystery.

Great penultimate Lord Peter and Harriet Vane novel submitted by ajh on July 21, 2023, 11:26am This book brings together Sayers's two main protagonists after much waiting. And a testament to how Sayers became a better writer as she was writing the Lord Peter series. It's also a love letter to Oxford University.

A mystery, or a romance? submitted by camelsamba on August 17, 2023, 10:33pm This is my favorite book in the series, and one of my favorite books of all time. The book is focused primarily on Harriet. In addition to the quite complex mystery, we get to see her realize that she loves Lord Peter. Her evolving awareness makes this a romance on top of the mystery. Oh yeah, and there’s feminism thrown in there as well (1930s style).
