A bit dated submitted by willow on August 11, 2016, 1:51pm This was only written in 1978, but it comes across as truly from another era when Gilly is afraid to touch an African American neighbor because of his skin color. My child found that part of the book, among others, to be hard to even comprehend. Be prepared to discuss this and other issues that pop up in this book.

pretty good submitted by .-.-.-. on June 22, 2019, 1:25pm This book was written a while ago, but it still feels sort of modern. Maybe besides the fact that Gilly was racist at the beginning. This was pretty good overall, I would recommend this to most people.
