Loved it submitted by slsk on August 28, 2012, 6:13pm One of my favorite books, and I don't even consider myself a fan of war stories. The way this book is written is beautiful and fascinating.

Beautiful submitted by Steph on June 19, 2013, 10:47am The prose is gorgeous, and the stories are fascinating: sometimes funny, sometimes heartbreaking, always beautiful.

Great submitted by Maria Maguire on July 26, 2014, 1:00pm We read a chapter from this book in class, and I enjoyed it so much I checked it out from the library and read the whole thing. It's a great book of stories, but also has interesting commentary on stories themselves, and what makes a good story. Very thought provoking.

Great read submitted by mzbell on July 28, 2014, 6:43pm Incredible book that changed the way I saw the men and women who serve in the armed forces. Tragic, but well worth the read.

Confusing submitted by cwb5463 on June 29, 2016, 8:20pm Impossible to tell the truth from the made up. Also a lot of military vocabulary that isn't obvious to everyone.

Outstanding submitted by tawesomenessk on June 24, 2017, 10:42am This is one of my favorite books I was made to read for a class. The stories were so real and made you feel directly in the moment. 10/10 book from me.
