Disappointing submitted by Zekicmom on August 12, 2014, 9:58pm I remember loving this book when I was younger so I was excited to share it with my daughter. I now wish I had left it as a fond memory without revisiting the book. Although the idea of tiny people living in secret in our homes and "borrowing" what they need is great fun, it just didn't hold up to my memory and did not captivate my daughter as I thought it would.

Try the Littles submitted by kathscot on July 4, 2015, 1:59pm For another series featuring tiny people.

Grim submitted by bfields on September 22, 2016, 10:20am Rereading this as an adult, I'd forgotten how depressing it is. This is the story of the how the tiny "borrowers" fight to survive and to stay in their home, but are eventually driven out by the human inhabitants, who are in decline themselves. We learn that many of the borrowers' friends and relatives have left, and probably died, and wonder if they're among the last of their kind. The plot is a gradual decline with the ending softened only by a second-hand recounting of a hint that the main character has survived.

It's not bad, but starting it with my 5-year-old was probably a mistake.
