Good Little Adventure submitted by Sara W on August 10, 2011, 9:11pm This is a great little adventure story of a giggly little woman who falls into the underworld after chasing a rice dumping she drops. The scary demons smell her out pretty quick and take her prisoner so she can make them rice dumplings with a magic rice paddle they provide. Don't underestimate the funny little woman - she makes an amazing dash for it and luck - and laughter - are always on her side!

Delightful submitted by trina05 on July 11, 2021, 12:35am Laughter can turn a situation around. Kidnapped by monsters, laugh it off. Forced to cook with a magic paddle, laugh it off. Finally run to freedom across a disappearing river, laugh it off.

The Funny Little Woman submitted by maywang on July 11, 2021, 7:15pm Excellent kids book, read it to younger children

Just right submitted by kathscot on July 17, 2021, 11:48am A just enough believable Little Woman who gets in just enough danger and escapes with just enough suspense.

A memorable book with delightful illustrations submitted by Diananana on July 12, 2023, 4:36pm This book was a favorite with my children. As adults, they remember it well, and occasionally make remarks about wicked oni or the whereabouts of a dumpling. Its silliness is very appealing. The illustrations are delightful. They show the adventures of the funny little woman below ground, along with what is happening on the surface, where one sees the passage of time marked out by the seasons.
