Interesting sequel submitted by kathscot on July 20, 2013, 4:33pm Same characters as "A Wrinkle in Time" with themes of valuing life, seeing the good in people you dislike and heroic self-sacrifice.

A Wind In The Door submitted by SBNB on July 31, 2014, 9:50pm I enjoyed this book as much or more than A Wrinkle In Time. The problem in this book is with Charles Wallace and the main characters are Meg and Calvin.

Very good! submitted by lgpat on August 29, 2015, 12:09am Great sequel......one worth reading a second time

Very interesting submitted by Makie Kaehr on June 19, 2016, 8:21pm I liked how this book used the same "good" and "evil" people. I also liked how the author made a good connection with Meg and Mr.Jenkins from this book. Meg and Mr.jenkins never really had a good connection with each other...

complex plot submitted by camelsamba on June 30, 2016, 9:18pm When I was growing up, I read and adored all the Madeleine L'Engle books I could find in my local library. I owned this trilogy (back when it was still a trilogy) - the copy I just finished reading to my 12yo has my maiden name in my teenage cursive inside the front cover. What appealed to me the most was the palpable sense of love that oozed from all the books, within the Murry family and the grander scheme of the universe. For someone in a family that did not express much affection, it was a soothing balm.

So I have a warm feeling when I think of these books. I know they have sweeping spiritual themes, the power of love, good vs evil -- but I remembered very few details of the plot (except the mitochondria and farandolae - I remember they were central).

And wow, this one has kind of a trippy complex plot, doesn't it? My son asked me to remind him what was going on more than once. But he also asked if we could start the next one, so clearly he enjoyed it.

Glad I didn't pass this up submitted by Duette on June 27, 2017, 12:32pm I'm reading this now as an adult because I never gave it a try as a child. Not regret a moment of it. This author adds layers to a story that would make revisiting it a pleasure.

good book submitted by accountefpd on June 17, 2019, 10:10am I thought that A Wind in the Door was a really good book.
