From horror's master storyteller, Stephen King, comes the classic tale--PET SEMETARY. When the Creeds move into a beautiful old house in rural Maine, it all seems too good to be true: physician father, beautiful wife, charming little daughter, adorable infant son--and now an idyllic home. As a family, they've got it all ... right down to the friendly car. But the nearby woods hide a blood-chilling truth--more terrifying than death itself--and hideously more powerful. Annotation. Not one of King's best submitted by marielle on July 2, 2011, 12:26pm Louis Creed moves with his family to a new place. Behind the house is a Pet Cemetery. Or is it more?

Pet Semetary is at best mediocre. It's your typical zombie book, with nothing particularly new or interesting about it.

Truly Terrifying submitted by obennett on June 20, 2016, 11:59am While the plot is fairly predictable it doesn't make this book any less terrifying. Despite being a horror buff, I had to put this book down multiple times so that I wouldn't spend the night having nightmares!

Pet Sematary explores some truly dark themes around death and loss, the guilt surrounding negative feelings for people you're supposed to be caring for, and the dark voices that tempt us to take actions we know are wrong.

Deeply disturbing submitted by TLW1998 on July 26, 2019, 9:28pm It is very realistic and relatable.

Sad and scary submitted by ilenekroll on August 22, 2021, 6:09pm Pulls on your heartstrings while scary the heck out you. Only King can do that !

Yep, the other reviewer was right. It’s terrifying. submitted by tisaallen on June 18, 2022, 9:21pm A loving father and husband goes way, way too far to bring his loved ones back from beyond the veil. First the beloved family pet, which returns as a malevolent ghoul that stinks like rotting grave soil. Since burying the cat in the haunted graveyard worked out so well, he inters his son Gage there after a tragic accident, and boy was that a mistake. Some people never learn, though, and in the end it costs them everything.

So, so, so much better than the movie.
