A modern classic, Carrie introduced a distinctive new voice in American fiction -- Stephen King. The story of misunderstood high school girl Carrie White, her extraordinary telekinetic powers, and her violent rampage of revenge, remains one of the most barrier-breaking and shocking novels of all time. Make a date with terror and live the nightmare that is - Carrie.

Listen to Your Wife submitted by Judeyblu on August 30, 2016, 11:15pm King almost gave up on publishing this.
His wife, Tabitha, scooped it from the trash and submitted one more time.
They bought it.
Listen to your wife.

Sympathizing submitted by sparklemarcus on June 17, 2017, 3:56pm Will leave you feeling bad for Carrie.

Not my favorite King novel but still an interesting read submitted by Jinxyluis on July 22, 2018, 2:02am I don't love reading books where you know what's going to happen, and Carrie is such an iconic story that it's hard not to at this point. Would likely have enjoyed it more if I experienced more suspense.

Scary good submitted by rebecca.perreault on August 8, 2018, 4:47pm Predictable scares, but the story arc and character development help this story shine.

About people submitted by TLW1998 on July 26, 2019, 9:26pm The book is supernatural, but it’s really about the everyday insanity and cruelty of everyday people.

Scary and Intense submitted by SadieRose on August 28, 2019, 10:21pm I wish that I had Carrie's powers while attending high school.

A classic submitted by ellec on July 13, 2022, 5:37pm This book was on my GoodReads shelf for a while, and I finally got around to it. The plot was excellent, and it really explored Carrie's struggles in depth. The writing style is a little dated, but it was still easy to read.

Good submitted by manz on July 28, 2023, 12:35pm I really liked this one! It’s a great intro to King if you’re looking to get started reading his works.
