I did not like this book submitted by Miriam Wasserman on July 19, 2018, 8:47pm I absolutely hated this book. I was looking forward to reading this because I loved the outsiders, but this book was a huge letdown. One of the reasons that I hated this book was the ending. S.E Hinton took a lot of time and detail building up a very intense plot, and in the last 9 pages, it all ends, right at the peak of excitement. It is as if S.E Hinton got tired of writing at page 150, and decided to put minimal effort into finishing this book. If S.E. Hinton, had taken more than 9 pages to finish the book, and made a better ending, instead of letting the whole book come crashing to a halt, I would have loved this book. S.E Hinton did not do this however, so I really did not like this book.

A good follow-up submitted by majean on August 19, 2018, 1:48pm It took Hinton *years* to be able to write a second book, so the tone is understandably a bit different from The Outsiders. Some characters do have cameos in this book, but it is not a sequel, just takes place in the same town around the same time.
