Exquisite Suspense submitted by Meginator on July 17, 2018, 6:20pm This book is considered a classic, and the reason is obvious: the subtle, simmering tension that builds so gradually you can’t locate the point where you’re completely hooked until it is far too late. The suspense is absolutely unrelenting, and the whole story is a series of disasters unfolding in excruciating slow motion, its air of creeping inevitability making for an exquisite reading experience.
