This small book of letters will restore your faith in humanity.
Like every book lover, Helene Hanff is on a quest for titles for her personal library, and when the shops nearby run out of stock, she pens a letter to Marks & Co., a bookshop that she hopes will help. And so begins a decades-long witty, magical correspondence between Helene and the reserved antiquarian bookseller, Frank Dole. As the world around them is shaped by WWII, the friendship between Helene, Frank, and the cast of characters at Marks & Co. is something lovely to behold.
