Time travel

This book is not to be confused with the movie of the same title, though they are both based on Einstein's theory of time.
It is a love letter to New York City, and a great mystery.
My only criticism is Jack Finney is a writer of his time, and somewhat sexist in his portrayal of women.

One of My All Time Favorites

This is one of the great time travel novels of all time. There is no time machine. A man is set into a room that is exactly like it would have been a century ago, he dresses in an appropriate way, and appropriately dressed people show up at his door, deliver period newspapers, all to make it easier for him to imagine himself into that time until suddenly, he is really there. A government agency recruits Simon Morley to try this. He succeeds, but complications ensue. Love complications and complications with the morality of changing the past. There is lots of adventure and excitement, but the biggest charm is the wonderful job that Finney does in bringing the New York City of the 1880's to life.
