GREAT submitted by willchet on July 12, 2014, 6:56pm An easy reader with a funny plot, good pictures, and a good moral. This book tells the story of the pasta pot.

Know the spell if you're going to use it. submitted by Kikumatsu97 on August 24, 2014, 8:44pm Anthony! stay away from the pot! This was always a great classic for our family. The illustrations are soft and lovely and the story is so simple.

Tomie de Paola's best submitted by FordAlpha on August 8, 2019, 9:41pm This book is deservedly a classic. The illustrations complement the text, which is a skillful retelling of a traditional folktale that has versions from many different places. My kids love the silly drama of the pasta spilling through the town, poor Anthony's haplessness, and Strega Nona's calm, matter-of-fact response to the crisis. I find some of Tomie de Paola's books (including later Strega Nona stories) to be too wordy, or just not very fun to read aloud, but this one is a gem.
