Argus C33 accessory lenses provide the right focal length for every picture.
Is the picture subject too far away? Oris the
. room so small that you can't step back to include the entire group? Switch to a C33 Accessory
Lens. It takes just a moment and makes even the difficult pictures easy to take.
The 35mm Wide Angle and lOOrrim Telephoto Lenses feature bayonet-type mounts¥especially designed
for the C33. Hard-coated and color-corrected, these lenses also have easy-to¥reAd range of
sharpness scales, click-stop lens openings, and the Argus Color-matic system for simplified
picture-taking.

TELEPHOTO
Perfect for sports pictures -brings the action twice as close. Lets you take exciting shots like
this foot¥ball action.
Using the telephoto lens for portraits keeps your sub¥ject at ease, nothing like it for really
natural-looking pictures of your friends and family.
When you can't get close enough to the subject, the C33 telephoto lens cuts the apparent
camera-to-subject distance in half. Makes distance shots easier.
I WIDE ANGLE
I For landscapes this lens is a must. Lets you take inI lots of area-gives your
I
vacation slides that "pro¥fessional" look.
I Makes group pictures easier
I
to take, too. No need to bunch the people together
I
-the wide angle lens takes in twice as much area as the normal lens.
I When there isn't enough room to step back, as on I this boat, the wide angle
I
of view includes all of the important things you want
in the picture.

To remove any of the C33 lenses, set the lens distance scale to any distance greater than 4 feet.
Hold the camera as shown. Grasp the lens and place the right forefinger on the lens lock release,
press up on the release, and rotate the lens counter-clock¥wise. Let your finger slide over the
lens lock release as you turn the lens, and also let the rangefinder dial and lens mount turn. After
about Ys of a turn, the lens will lift out.
You can also set the lens on infinity before removal. This leaves the dots on camera and lens
aligned and the lens'can be replaced without adjustment.
To install any of the lenses, align the two red dots on the camera body and lens mount ring (see
illustration above) . Then align the two red dots on the rear of the lens. Insert the lens carefully
so the notch in the lens' distance scale ring fits over the square projection on the lens mount
ring. When the lens is seated, rotate it clockwise (about Ys turn) until it locks in place. Avoid
changing the lenses with sunlight striking the front of the camera.
To protect the delicate mechanism of the shutter, never leave the camera without a lens installed.
color-matic settings
Both lenses have Color-matic lens openings for average subjects in sunlight. The wide angle lens
also has a Color-matic distance setting. (Focus the telephoto lens for each picture.) Use YELLOW
markings for Kodachrome Daylight Color Film, and RED for Ektachrome and Anscochrome Daylight Color
Films, Kodacolor, and Panatomic-X, Supreme, and similar black-and-white films (ASA 25-50).
range of sharpness
Both accessory-lenses have range of sharpness scales which tell you at a glance the range of sharp
focus in your picture. Just focus on the subject and look below the lens opening number you are
using (one is on each side of the distance index mark) to find the near and far points of sharp
focus. See your C33 instruction book for detailed information.
The lens shades on the lenses are used to hold filters in place. Hold the lens opening ring and
unscrew the shade. Drop in the filter (Series VI size, 1%" diameter) and replace the'shade. The lens
shade also helps to keep the sun from striking the lens surface.
Available as an accessory, this fine viewfinder shows you the fields taken in by the 35mm Wide
Angle, 100mm Telephoto, and 50mm Normal lenses. An efficient adjustment tilts the viewfinder and
lets you correct for parallax-you see just what the camera lens sees, at every distance. Genuine
leather case is also available.
